I highly recommend you read Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. I've loved it since I was little, but each time I go back to it I identify with something new. It is simply stated and less flowery than most poems. I think that's one reason why I love it so much. No reason to garnish something that is so purely beautiful. You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
